Street food is the ultimate gateway to the soul of Mexican culture. This tour is a curated walk through the heart of Mexico City, designed to showcase the soul of our cuisine: the family-owned gems, the street stands, and the ancestral flavors that define our daily life.

This tour explores the history of México through the legacy of indigenous cooks, the sweet traditions that have survived since the 19th century, and everything in between.

The Menu

We’ve selected stops that balance tradition with a cool-local vibe, ensuring everything is 100% natural and vegan-friendly:

  • The Basket: We’ll track down CDMX’s legendary tacos de canasta. If we’re lucky with the timing, we might even spot the city’s famous Lady Tacos de Canasta, a Muxe vendor serving them straight from their bike!
  • The Blue Corn: We continue with tlacoyos made from masa azul. A rare heirloom find in the city, hand-pressed by indigenous women who keep the ancient nixtamalization process alive.
  • The Frozen Zone: A scoop of artisanal nieve. Forget gelato; these are hand-churned daily. From classic mango to bold fusions like Mezcal & Hibiscus, it’s the perfect palate cleanser.
  • The Time-Machine: A stop at a traditional candy store founded in 1874. The perfect place to pick up handmade souvenirs that taste like 19th-century Mexico.
  • Corn-on-the-Cup: Grab a quick cup-to-go of authentic grilled esquites made with fresh corn. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy the walk through the beautiful scenery of Parque Alameda.

The Grand Finale

Mexico City’s weather is unpredictable, so we’ll play it by ear to give you the best experience:

  • Sunny & Vibrant: A hidden terrace with a stunning view of Parque Alameda for a refreshing drink and guacamole. Perfect to rest, make friends, and share stories.
  • Chilly & Cozy: A retreat to a legendary churrería (est. 1935) for hot chocolate and churros, where Pre-Hispanic cacao meets European tradition.

What the FAQ?

Our tours welcome AFAB, femme-presenting, queer travelers, solo adventurers, and allies. Allies are encouraged to be respectful and mindful. Our goal is to keep our community safe and inclusive for everyone.

Absolutely! You’ll join a female-led tour and choose between a group or private experience. You’re also welcome to reach out directly to check availability and options, we want everyone to feel safe and comfortable.

Yes! Beyond group experiences, we can arrange tours inside or outside the city, tailored to your interests, group size, and budget. You get to focus on what excites you most, the places you want to explore, the stories you want to hear, and the experiences you want to live.

Since MxCity for the Girls, Gays & They’s is a small, woman-led business, I personally manage all bookings, calendars, and tour confirmations. This keeps everything warm, human, and flexible, but it also means the easiest way to reserve your spot is to book directly with me.

For direct bookings:

  • Send me a quick message on WhatsApp and I’ll confirm availability for your date.
  • Once you’re ready to lock in your spot, I’ll send a secure payment link. We currently accept: MercadoPago, Wise, Stripe, Revolut, and PayPal. If you prefer a specific method, just let me know, we can adapt.

Book through a platform:
I know there’s a lot of debate when it comes to third-party booking platforms, I always recommend Exploring Not Boring, since they’re also a community-led small business and align with our values. You can also find some of my tours on WithLocals and Airbnb Experiences, but please keep in mind that these platforms take large commissions and often overcharge customers, so prices there are higher.

No matter how you book, your spot is safe, but booking directly helps support queer-led, ethical tourism in Mexico City.

No worries! We know that planning a trip or trying something new can feel overwhelming. If you’re unsure about anything, just reach out, we’re happy to answer your questions before you book. Send us a quick message on WhatsApp and we’ll help you out.
