Meet the creator of MxCity for the Girls, Gays & They’s

I design experiences for travelers who want more than cookie-cutter tours. Join me in discovering Mexico City’s hidden stories, vibrant culture, and queer history, all while supporting local communities, traveling ethically, and feeling safe and seen.

Our Story

I’m a feminist-queer traveler, activist, and the guide behind every experience. In 2022, after working as a tour guide for almost two years, I realized that typical tours rarely felt authentic or community-focused. Life took some turns, and during a break, I discovered what I truly loved about guiding: meeting new people, sharing stories, and creating meaningful experiences that benefit both visitors and locals, all with a side of mezcal.

I began with the idea of feminist-history tours. And being the huge history nerd I am, I researched spots and stories that would excite travelers. But I soon realized I couldn’t share feminist history without including queer history. I wanted to highlight the real heroes of Mexico beyond the mainstream, Eurocentric, heteronormative narratives (yes, I know, that’s a mouthful).

Most importantly, I wanted to create tours that support local communities, prioritize ethical tourism, and offer safe, inclusive spaces for everyone. MxCity for the Girls, Gays & They’s is about connecting visitors with Mexico City in a way that respects its people, culture, and history, while fostering friendships, learning, and empowering my girls, gays & they’s!

Our Values

Our mission is simple: authentic, inclusive, and ethical experiences that connect people to Mexico City and its communities.

  • Community-Rooted: Every tour supports local queer spaces, artists, and small businesses.
  • Ethical & Responsible: We prioritize sustainable tourism practices that respect people, culture, and environment.
  • Authentic & Inclusive: We share the untold stories of feminists, queer activists, and allies.
  • Safe & Welcoming: Tours are designed to make everyone feel seen, supported, and connected.
  • Beyond the Mainstream: Explore Mexico City beyond tourist clichés and superficial experiences.
  • Empowering: Learn, connect, and see how even small actions can create positive changes.

Philosophy

Mexico is not the unsafe, stereotypical country you may have heard about in the news. It’s alive, vibrant, and full of stories that deserve to be told responsibly. Through MxCity for the Girls, Gays & They’s, visitors travel ethically, support local communities, and discover authentic stories, whether you’re solo, with friends, or exploring queer spaces for the first time.

Every tour is more than sightseeing. It’s about connection, discovery, and friendships. It’s like exploring the city with your Mexican cousin who knows it intimately, celebrating its heroes, and sharing experiences that make a real difference for locals and travelers alike.

Join me and discover Mexico City like you haven’t done before!
